Trabzon'a 99 Km. ve Çaykara ilçesine 19 Km. uzaklikta, deniz seviyesinden 1090 m. Yükseklikte bulunan Uzungöl, dik yamaçlari ve muhtesem orman örtüsü ile Alplerin güzelligini geride birakmaktadir.

Yerli ve yabanci turistlerin büyük ilgisini çeken Uzungöl, sahip oldugu turistik potansiyeli bakimindan çok zengindir. Çevrede trekking, kus gözlem, botanik amaçli turlarin yani sira daha yükseklerdeki daglarin arasindaki göllere veya yakinlarindaki Sekersu, Demirkapi, Yaylaönü gibi diger yaylalara geziler düzenleme olanagi vardir. Yaban hayati bakimindan Uzungöl çevresindeki daglarda ayi, kurt, yaban keçisi, tilki, Kafkas dag horozu gibi hayvan türleri barinmaktadir.
