Our Community Education Programme
Zoom In exists to provide education, facilities and services through the promotion of the arts with particular but not exclusive reference to photography, digital art and multimedia for individuals and community groups. Zoom In promotes the attainment of independent goals through creativity, education, inspiration, encouragement and support for individuals and community groups. We currently provide:
* volunteer / work placements providing experience, training and opportunities
* an active education programme for adults, young people and children
* photographic facilities and resources for individuals and community groups
* employment for artists and photographers.
* an exhibition programme promoting the work of photographers and bringing photography to
a wider audience
Zoom In Ltd has been developed in response to government and local borough initiatives. We form complementary partnerships with local schools and organisations to ensure that our activities are relevant, addressing a need, and accessible. Our education programme concentrates on the South London area, whilst providing volunteering placements London-wide and exhibition space for national photographers.
The services that we provide have been developed by committed voluntary staff. We currently have 45 volunteers, and 7 work placements throughout the year from schools and organisations based in Lambeth, including special needs schools within the borough. Zoom In has designed and co-ordinated photographic activities for such organisations as Lambeth Summer Projects, Mencap, Refugee Council, Connexions, The Centre for Filipinos and local schools.
We have worked in partnership with Battersea Arts Centre designing and tutoring a project entitled Life's Better Together for 10 to 16 year olds from a joint partnership between Battersea Churches Housing Trust, Harding Housing Association and Thames Housing Association. Morley College provide part of their City and Guilds level 2 Photography through the facilities at Zoom In. Community Education Enquiries
